Are any of you experiencing small nicks on your windshield. It seems to me that the Prius glass is softer than other cars I've had. Only 5,000 miles and the window seems to have as many nicks as a 25K mile car I have. First I thought the nicks were gum or glue, but they are actually micro-nicks that during the morning time become very visible, like sparkling diamonds. Has anyone used window polish with a rotary applicator to fix these imperfections? NiMHPrius
I've noticed these on soo many cars.. i'm just convinced that auto glass makers suck... kindof depressing when you want a nice clean winshield and the sun hits it at that perfect angle to make it light up.

Not only do i see the front windshield getting micro-starred, but i see the back window as well as the side windows all away around the prius getting micro starred...very pronounced with the sun beaming in...ive only had the car about 1 month and this is the first time ive seen glass get so screwed up so fast...i think this "new" glass/plastic garbage should be totally replaced under warranty across the board...it should have a total recall...because i can guarantee it will only get worse for everybody as time goes on...
I have not noticed the microchips, but I have been startled several times by the very loud tick made when small debris hits the windshield. I had never noticed such a loud noise before.
I've managed to get a runner along the lower right quarter of the windshield. Talked to the glass people (glazier?) and they said it couldn't be fixed. And they couldn't find the replacement in their computer. I'll ask Toyota next time I'm in for maintenance, but does anybody here know the spare window parts availability?
