Gents, Not to beat a dead horse but is a Fuel Gauge calibration neccessary after a 12V Battery replacement is done? It was done on a slight slope with the nose facing down. Wife claims that it is about two pips less than prior to battery install. R, Mike C
I doubt it needs to be done. But if you're suspicious it might, park on a level surface, disconnect the battery -ve lead and press the brake pedal (to discharge the caps), then reconnect the battery. Note that you will probably have to press "on" twice to get to ready and you will have to reset the auto up drivers side window as well as all the radio stations and turn off the backup beeper again, if you turned it off. I didn't notice any change in Pearl's fuel gauge after I removed the battery last summer, but she was parked on a level surface.
