In the news this morning, some rumblings about allowing self serve in Coquitlam. We're a greater Vancouver suburb, pretty much the only district around allowing full serve gas stations only. In the 25+ years we've lived here, think we've filled up in a Coquitlam full serve station twice. Hope it happens. Chevron pushing on Coquitlam regs for self-serve stations
I'm too young to remember when full-service was the norm. Was a tip ethically expected or outright rejected?
When I worked in my Dad's service station (1960 - '66), I'd accept a tip if offered; but never expected one.
No tip expected. Move to Oregon -- and I think New Jersery -- where full-serve is the only serve available.
