I caught this last night and thought it might be enlightening: Source: Wind power in the United Kingdom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Also: Portugal runs for four days straight on renewable energy alone | Environment | The Guardian Bob Wilson
Is it weird that I kind of like wind turbines? I know a lot of people think of them as eyesores. And I suppose we can't have them everywhere. But in I've driven through areas populated with them, and there is something nearly inspiring about them. On a mountain side, or in the distance they are deceptively huge...and there is something efficiently graceful about them. Unless of course you are a bird that doesn't see one in time. I'm probably in a huge minority but I like them.
i also like them. looking out at the open ocean is just as beautiful when the horizon is lined with windmills. even huge turbines in a small town give it an appealing surreal effect.
Well it appears it isn't as minority a viewpoint as I thought. Hmm...don't know if I like following the crowd. Could some of you guys pretend you hate them?
Actually I see a lot of these around here. Smaller in towns and larger 'out yonder'. Know what I don't like? At any given time it seems ~30% are not working. Feathered and braked. do not know if construction or maintenance problems, but gosh. Somebody's money went in, and kilowatts are not coming out.
