Fully Charged does the plug in (in the UK). Its worth noting that Robert runs a G3 Prius as his everyday and "CarPool" car: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh-l74EMZcs]YouTube - Fully Charged Plug In Prius[/ame]
I've been following Robert since his "Gearless" videos on YouTube. I'm pretty entertained by his shows, and hope he can get this one off the ground and running strong! Thanks for the post!
I noticed that he said this version does not have an EV mode switch. I wonder if it would be possible to add one, like on the Gen-2 prius.
Nothing is known about the production car since they are only in testing phase right now, but it's speculated that there will be an EV button in the final release. Most likely, the EV mode was disabled for test vehicles so that drivers would use the EV battery pack and deplete it. Toyota will be studying the results when they get the cars back.
I wouldn't go so far as to say nothing is known about what the producton PHEV will be. Toyota already published its weight, Kwh capacity, EV range etc. It's not like they can reasonably spend a couple years testing all these specs, and then release a compleatly different PHEV. They're sticking w/ this criteria for a reason.
My mistake, I phrased that incorrectly. I didn't mean to say no technical specs or information was released about the car. I meant to say nothing is known in terms of what packages/trims/features the car will be equipped with. *(a la Prius II/III/IV, etc)*
