    Hello All,

I need help I purchased a Prius a while ago, now the ABS pump has has failed I got an used one but when I was replacing the unit the rubber hose broke, and now is linking fluid.

Does anyone knows what's the size, model or if just can go to autozone and replace it it.

see where the hose goes on the image.

    any help?

    Thanks in advance.

No you cannot we've been around and around about this before on here I have to go out and look at one of my old ones I'm not sure what is holding that on or how it's held on but it's not a part that you can just buy I'm not sure you could easily take it off of another one if you had one sitting out I got three sitting out here I have to go look when it gets light out in the morning so your ABS pumping accumulator is working except for that 5/16 looking size fitting yeah that sucks. How bad is it broke off.

Ok..here we go. Yes they can be removed. I've done it a few times.

Grab the ribbed area with a pair of channel locks. Slide a set of needle nose pliers under the channel locks and pry upward. The plastic piece that is inside the aluminum has a rubber o-ring on it that locks it in place. The goal is to hold it tightly (without breaking it) with the channel locks so the needle nose can pry straight away from the aluminum block. It will pop right out. Then you just need to find a replacement at a salvage yard or something. Or if someone has a failed unit where you can pull the tube out of. Or if you have the old one from your car.

I just went out to the shop and removed one from a failed actuator I had on the shelf. Took 2 minutes, including finding the tools.

here's two photos to help you visualize it better. Hold snug with the channel locks, insert needle nose pliers under the channel locks until the tips are sticking out the other side and so they will brace against the channel locks, lift the needle nose handle upward to pop the plastic tube out of the aluminum block. Usually the oring comes out with it and there is also a very small screen mesh filter to watch out for. Make sure you put it back in correctly.

If you do this, don't forget to pinch off the rubber hose coming from the reservoir and you'll need to do the portion of the bleed procedure associated with the reservoir and hose.

OP: did you damage the white plastic adapter or are you saying you just need the black rubber hose that connects to that plastic tube adapter?
