2 year old Hybrid Battery. Replaced Factory Battery from 2007 Prius in July of 2016. Have the receipts for the battery. Have put about 30k miles on it. Asking $1000 obo for the battery. Car needs an inverter and not worth replacing.
They can be replaced and are available readily. But the car might be rusted out which may also be a reason?
Dealer wants $3500 to replace. I could pickup a used inverter for around $400+ plus a few hours to install it, but no guarantee it will last. I just replaced the hybrid coolant pump myself a few weeks ago. The car is only worth about $1700 running. She's in fair shape, no rust Ray. I gave it to my sister 2 years ago in great shape. She might have run into a few things over the past years. Ha.
No, it's an aftermarket battery. I would have to check the paperwork to see what brand. I bought it from Advance Auto Parts, because it came with a 3 year warranty instead of the 12 month from Toyota.
Is the battery case Orange? If so, Dorman it is. I’d be curious to have the cover pulled and some pictures of the modules taken. I bet they are 2004- 2007 cells and now sitting have gotten pushed over the edge.
The used market is around $200 in most places, including online. Though I bet you could find one for a bit less.
