Hey All, I have a couple used parts I picked up a little under a year ago, that I just never got around to putting on and priorities have changed, so I thought I'd offer them up on here to see if any locals were interested. Right now they just sit in my garage and collect dust. Location: Tracy, CA (work in Dublin), so can meet up in the Bay Area or Central Valley. Local pickup only right now, as I don't have time to get these shipped. Would also consider making a trade for some lowering springs for the Gen 2 Prius. I have the following: Circled in red in the picture from when I purchased Progress Rear Strut Bar - $100 firm Ebay brand Front Strut Bar - $30 obo Chassis Stiffing Plate - $50 obo OEM Wheels: 2 Need tires, at least one TPMS is dead, one replaced approx 2 years ago - $100 obo
They OEM plate has holes in it, the one pictured above doesn't have holes. Here are various aftermarket stiffening plates compared to the smaller OEM for the Gen2 :
I installed the Corolla front and rear sway bars. That made some difference. Alignment shop told me I needed a camber kit after the front went in. Guess it rides on the inside of the wheels slightly. Didn't think it would change my alignment. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Interesting. As I wanted to try the front sway at some point. A couple of years ago I installed a solid core rear sway and thought there was some improvement in the way it tracks going down the road, then recently I switched from 195/55/16 to 185/65/15 and now the car is wandering all of the place again. Could be the higher profile (lack of stiffness) or the width (less contact patch), I doubt it was the wheel size change. Next time I will go back to a lower profile tire on the 15" wheel : Rim & Tire Size Calculator. Custom Offsets - Wheel-Size.com
From what I've read the rear sway bar take some of the oversteer out of the car. It did seem to do that. Rear just a light weight pipe. Corolla is solid. Front definitely beefier as well. Car feels more solid and stable overall. Inexpensive to buy used Corolla ones. Roughly 125 for both. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
