My 2011 prius is having issues and i need help.A few months back it ran out of gas and wouldnt start figured out it was the cells and got them replaced. After that it worked for a while until i started hearing a shaking sound when starting and turning off the car.Now the ac will run hot and the car will lose power and all of the lighs including the hybrid system light will turn on.Ive tried reseting the hybrid system and everything works fine for a bit but then it goes back to the ac not working.Someone help me out its hot as hell right now.Do i need to clean my egr valve or his my hybrid battery still bad? Heres a pic of the codes i get when the lights are on. Ive also tried recharing the ac and its good.
Your problem is the HV battery. How many miles on the Prius? What app are you using to read the trouble codes? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Repeated attempts to restart an out-of-gas car, and/or driving in EV mode to a gas station can run the hybrd battery down beyond normal limits. I've read here that Toyota protected the 3rd generation better against this, but who knows. Atleast 100k earlier it would have been good to clean the full EGR system, including the intake manifold. Where you are now, I'd suspect head gasket failure. Boroscope inspection with the cooling system pressurized (looking for coolant seapage past the head gasket into combustion chambers) and/or leak-down test are the usual tests.
