Hello guys, My rear hatchback glass on 2010 Toyota Prius broke because of faulty defroster grid. So right now I am looking for a replacement and I have found one real close to me, but it comes off of a 2007 Toyota Prius. I have checked online and comes out that both glasses are with same part # 68131. So that makes me think they have used same exact glass for Gen 2 and Gen 3. Has anyone know if that is true?
No, the back door glass isn’t interchangeable between generations. In Toyota’s catalogs, 68131 is a part name code (PNC), and it just means “GLASS, BACK DOOR” for whatever vehicle you’re looking up, whether it’s a Prius, a C+pod, a Coaster, or anything in between. Toyota part numbers are typically ten or twelve characters, and if you compare catalog Figure 67-08, Back Door Panel & Glass, for model year 2007 and for model year 2010 Prius cars, you’ll notice that the part numbers—68105-47051 for 2007, and 68105-47121 or 68105-47122 for 2010—are different.
