Our daughter's Gen I seems to lose power when driving slowly, especially when driving up and down hills. Eventually, it won't climb a hill at all. No dealer (2) has been able to fix this. Is this a known behavior? Thanks. Don.
Any warning lights or codes? Power loss & low battery during climb | PriusChat might prove interesting but may not have the cause as yours. And, that guy has a Gen 2....
Don- You may have better hits if you post this in Gen 1 section which is hard to find. Open up Gen 2 main forum its in there. We don't see alot of Gen 1 anymore so its a sub section I guess. But whats the battery charge rate meter doing. Is the hybrid battery really low and struggling to keep a charge? If battery ok look at the engine. Sparkplugs maybe or first how dirty is the throttle body? Get a flashlight take off air cleaner crack open butterfly by turning spring loaded axle by hand and look down bore. How nasty is it?
