All, I am in Chicago area, and I bought this kit from eBay, but have not take the time to find someone to install it for me. If you can install it and you are near Chicago, please contact me ASAP. Otherwise I want to sell it here for $30 (Paid $46). eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices I opened this kit just to take a look, then somehow I lost the instruction. The seller of this kit was very nice, emailed me the scan of the instruction. I attach them here. You can pick up this kit from zipcode 60093 or 60712. PM me if interested. Thanks! Allen
I looked at the instructions - it tells you to drill out a hole in the back of the light housing. That would require us to remove the bumper to remove the lights. I can see why you never installed your kit. Also HID retrofit lights should never be installed in the Gen II anyway. They just blind oncoming drivers because of scattered light.
It's a pnp rebased hid kit. All this does is allow u to install a hid bulb in a halogen headlight. If you put a hid bulb in a halogen headlight, ull do noting but blind everybody on the road.
So what you mean is, a true HID kit should come with the housing (reflector) of its own, to correctly direct the beam to specified angle/range? Is it possible to adjust the angle of the HID head using the current reflector? I remember someone put pictures showing how he adjust the HID kit so the beam does not bother other drivers. I remember he took the picture at night near a wall, showing clearly where is the beam on the wall... I don't know if he used complete HID Kit or just HID head... Thanks!
A true hid headlight will have "D2R" or "D4R" stamped on the lens of the gen 2 headlight. If its a halogen list, it will be stamped with "H4". As far as aiming a halogen headlight with a pnp hid kit.......its not going to help. U can aim the beam all the way to the ground & it still won't take care of the glare on the side of the lights. Haven't u ever noticed Civic's, Corolla's, Tacoma's & any other car that has extra bright bluish light? Most of them have a pnp hid kit. Here is a good place to read all about HIDs. www.hidplanet.com/forums/forum Sorry to rain on ur parade.
