My 2004 Prius at 172K miles runs very good overall, but sometimes (one in 30 times maybe), it seems the computer somehow don't let it go stealth mood. Today when I just exit freeway, I was at about 35mph, and I can't get to the stealth drive mood. Then I speed up to 41 mph, it then goes to the stealth mood. Does anyone else experience this? Anyone knows why? Thanks!
i had that on my gen II as well. full battery, hot ice, warm weather, no climate on, and yet, ice will not shut off once in a while. must be a software bug or a combination of factors beyond understanding.
Yes, here's why (read this). The Five Stages of Prius Hybrid Operation | PriusChat You're stuck in S3. You have to come to a complete stop for 7-10 seconds (until the ICE shuts off). When you come to a stop, the ICE must be running. If its not, hold your left foot on the brake and press the accellerator until the ICE fires up then, wait until the ICE shuts off. You will then be in S4
