I am beginning to consider getting a second Prius. (Yeah, I'm one of those non PIP owners posting here.) I have been quite pleased with my 2004 package 9 that is approaching 108K miles. I have tried some searches of the web and PriusChat to see when there will be general PIP availability. So far all I found is that it should happen about a year after the limited introduction of the 2012 model year. Obviously that has not happened. Any one here with any information on this?
Not much hope it appears. I went by a local dealership to check on some features. Allegedly they found one the color I want in East Tennessee. But after talking to district, would not move on a dealer trade to get it. From what I was told, there might be a district by district expansion. For the district that includes Tennessee, it is years away. So I'll be checking out of state dealers.
