Anyone know if the large power cable that comes with the PiP can handle 240? Would imagine the cable is designed to handle 240, yet the plug is only for a 120. Presuming the cable handles both voltages, then would there be a way to create an adapter, pigtail etc) so the one cable can be plugged into either source easily? (Just can't justify $500-999 home station to save 1.5 hours in a charge time for a 10 mile use). Seeing a related thread now answering some of the question... How to plug into a standard 220V outlet? | Page 3 | PriusChat
no, it cannot. as you can see from the other thread, the only way to make it work is change the insides of the brick, and a plug adapter. still a very elegant and much more reasonably priced solution to a new L2 evse.
Think the upgrade to the brick would be that complicated? ~$250+ seems on the expensive side for the parts/work that would be involved to upgrade the brick.
no, i don't think it's complicated. as long as you know what your doing. for me? it would be like attempting brain surgery.
the guy who owns the company, peef, is probably the most brilliant guy around. he built his own phev way back when, and didn't run into the obstacles so many here do. you can read his posts by searching his name.
