I picked up my slightly used 2010 Prius V from a gentleman in Beaverton 2 weeks ago and have been seriously enjoying my new ride. I haven't bought a new(er) car in many, many years and I'm glad I waited for this oppurtunity to come along! I'm also enjoying perusing the forums here - what a great resource!
We try to provide the most information available to current and prospective Prius owners. Posts like yours make the effort worth it. Welcome to PC!
look at that, another local. congrats on the purchase and let me know how the MPG is effected during the cold weather since i am looking to buy sometime soon.
Welcome! At work, a new member on our large project gets a name tag on their cube that reads "New Guy" or "New Gal". They get their real name tag after they bring in donuts or cookies for the group. With as many new Prius owners in this group, myself included, it's a good thing we don't do that here. We'd all weigh over 300 lbs. and our MPGs would suffer.
:welcome: Welcome to Priuchat! Get comfy. There's a lot of information here. But don't get too comfy as it can become addictive.
So far, in mixed driving, my average consumption has been right at 50MPG. I'm guessing the winter drop in MPG is from the engine running more to maintain it's operating temp, causing a decrease? At any rate, I'll keep you in mind if my mileage becomes affected negatively. The 2012 refresh is looking pretty good, go ahead and pull the trigger!
Thanks for the warm welcome! There is a ton of info here - a vast library of knowledge. I'm having fun digging around!
Welcome to the group, with winter coming up, start reading up on Grill Blocking and other "Winter" MPG questions and answers! There is a bunch of useful info here, ya just gotta dig it up! Have fun!
