I tinted my rear hatch window with SunTek CXP film yesterday morning. When driving at night with the tinted window, there are streaks of glare along rear defogger lines caused by the headlights behind me. For v owner with tinted hatch window, do you have the same issue? Will the glare be gone after the tint dries up?
Just got my back window tinted in 3m cr60, noticed the streaks also. I am going to give it full week, then wash it with stoners. I got it tinted monday and now that I think about it, last night I went for a drive and didn't notice it, but I wasnt checking.
It is common to notice a doubling effect on rear hatch glass (due to defroster wires) no matter the vehicle. Combining the thickness of the original glass then adding an addition layer with the defroster wires THEN applying tint to the inner face of the glass creates enough thickness between the outer surface of the glass and the inner surface of the tint (in the horizontal plane) as to be visible as glare.
Stoner's glass cleaner will get the window really clean. After they tint it, they run a plastic edge tool across the tint to push any water out, so it could leave the outside a little dirty or marked. After a few days, I see the glare in a vertical plane above the light source, but only the little strip that is over the rear defroster element. Much less noticeable than the way it was the first night.
