GM's Whitacre no Iacocca, ad world says - Yahoo! Finance I've seen the ads and think they're not bad IMHO. No, he's no Lee Iacocca but then again, I'm not your regular car consumer/buyer. I do find it a bit puzzling that the government picked him to be in charge considering he no knowledge of the auto industry. I just found out that per AT&T's former CEO Ed Whitacre joins GM as chairman - USATODAY.com he has two monstrosities: a Yukon and a Tahoe. If they only could've gotten a turnaround king w/auto industry experience like Carlos Ghosn. He turned around Nissan from near bankruptcy into making record profits, for awhile. From what I've read, he was considered to be a superhero by the Japanese.
