Chinese province runs entirely on renewable energy for 7 days@5.

Allow me to expand on this. Province is Qinghai, middle among 3 big ones in west. North of Tibet (it has a different name here :)) but still on Tibetan Plateau. Population 5 million which is very small here. Inhabit story also included kilowatt hours, I converted this to 1310 watts per person during the week as I have done elsewhere. By this measure it seems a big deal to me as China nationally is a '500 watt' country.

Another recent story I remember is Costa Rica being all on renewable perhaps also for a week. By coincidence population there is 5 million also.

UK has also had a renewable 24 hrs. But this highlights the need for bi-directional storage.
