Just got this from BBC news app and thought Fred's House might want to know: VW diesel car protest: Greenpeace members climb on boat - VW diesel car protest: Greenpeace members climb on boat - BBC News
Interesting, UK Greenpeace is at the unloading docks so I'm wondering were their German Greenpeace at the loading dock? What bothers me is the lack of data behind Greenpeace and these specific diesels. Press reports are that VW has fixed the SCR diesels, a good thing. So I'm less impressed until we know details about these diesel models. Notice I didn't mention the engine on the ship ... perhaps too much of a lift. A better action would be to help UK cities pass anti-diesel rules and support independent, non-contact, exhaust testing stations. Bob Wilson
Didn't open it to read full report, but a fuel pricing at the pumps app I subscribe to suggests that more and more evidence of additional diesel pollution is coming to light, yet Europe continues to push for diesel over petrol. Can't offer you any data to verify sadly Bob. Agree Motor Vessels tend to burn heavy oil (crude) and many busy sea ports are complaining about their all air quality.
