I drive a Taxi here in Dublin. This car will be the taxi of the future as taxis spend 80% of their time stopped in traffic. At least here we do. I do a blog at Dublin taxi. So now you can follow my progress as I solve my Prius problems. My car was imported directly by me through www.ibcjapan.jp. A caution for you. Japanese drive on the left, so the cars are R/H drive. All the displays are in Japanese and Toyota Ireland blanked me when I asked for help. One thing about me is that I am not a quitter. With your help we will do it. Happy St. Patricks day.
I'm in Cork and a new Prius owner as well. I have the manual but it's only in paper format. As for the Japanese display, I think it's encoded in the firmware of the display unit, a quick fix would be visiting your local scrapper (you're a taxi driver so you should have good motoring contacts!) and picking up a display from a broken Prius (there are instructions on the site on how to open the MFD). Alternatively, a new MFD. I don't know if the firmware is flashable but sure as hell Toyota IE won't do it (in the end you're using a parallel import so Toyota IE is losing money..). Good luck! Tony
