I just noticed today that it appears the previous owner added some fine mesh screen to the front of my car. There is mesh sewed in place in the upper and lower grill openings anyone know what the purpose of this would have been for?
I have done both mine. It's to keep rocks from damaging the condenser and radiator. Also helps with stopping bugs from plugging them.
After seeing how badly the rocks and pebbles that pass for winter road 'sand' smashed flat most of the radiator fins on a previous car, I did this to my Subaru. So far my Prius doesn't get enough winter mountain pass driving to justify the effort, especially with grill blocking in place.
