I have a 2014 with less than 80000 miles. Several days ago I was unable to close the hatch without the door open light coming on and consequently driving with the obnoxious beep that comes with an open door. I took it to the dealer today and they will fix it for $550. They say the door hatch assembly is broken and needs to be replaced. I've owned other Prius' and driven them to 150000 miles without something like this happening. Has anyone had a similar experience and is the $550 fix the only way?
I've got a fuzzy memory: someone here disassembled and repaired theirs successfully. Pretty sure they started a thread on the subject. Wasn't able to find it with google search though.
