First one is Iselle which seems to have a good target lock on the big island. Second Julio, with forecast track to the north a bit. Neither is big (central pressures >980 MB). But if the roof above you is made of palm leaves or similar, perhaps spend the next few days somewhere else? Local reports would be much appreciated.

Derived from those above, plus forecasters' experience. Both storms are in low-wind-shear environments, but the sea surface is not warm enough to fuel intensity increases So, how many surfers will permanently offer themselves up this time?

i am sleeping out on my lanai tonight (ground floor balcony). i miss the rain & lightning storms of Long Island. so maybe the skies will be active because of the two hurricanes coming to Hilo. my Prius c1 better be ok,,, hahaha
