"Too Hot Not to Handle" is the title of the new HBO documentary looking at the global warming problem and ways for people to solve it, and should hopefully include some info/scenes from the record-setting tank MPG run by the hyper milers in PA last year. I'm fairly certain this is the correct documentary - I was also interviewed for this, so it's (quite unlikely) possible I'm in it as well. It's running all this week and next week as well (Next monday on HBO HD, which is when I'm tivo-ing it). At any rate, since it's directly related to the hyper-mile run of the pulse and glide technique, I put this in the main forum - if anyone disagrees with this classification, please have the PMs move it. Also, I saw one of the hyper milers this morning on Good Morning America on a segment about gas prices - Dave had a quick few seconds to mention his 110 mpg pulse and glide technique that they incorrectly referred to as "Pulse and Ride". Ah well, at least it's press coverage. -m.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(EricGo @ May 5 2006, 12:59 PM) </div> I do hope to burn it to dvd, but unfortunately right now we don't have a dvd burner hooked up to our tv. However, I know you can pick them up quite cheap these days, so we might do so if there is enough coverage on the 1300 mile run during the documentary. I'll keep you up to date on it! -m.
i have a dvd burner only cost $240 or so. dont have HBO but i do know a few that do. plus anything that comes on tv will be on the net in a few hours most likely.
I can try to record it and make a torrent if people are interested. The only problem is what format people would like. I can easily do WMF and I can also do xvid or straight mpeg or mpeg2. xvid and the mpeg files will take a little longer and would be bigger. Anyone interested?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(theforce @ May 6 2006, 01:51 PM) </div> Absolutely. I use Linux and Macintosh. Generic formats are good mpg2 or mpg4 should work for everybody. H264 for an HD stream would be REALLY spiffy. Using ffmpeg, you can encode 320 X 176 with high quality mp3 audio, at 30 KB/sec

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JackDodge @ May 6 2006, 09:44 PM) </div> Sorry, I figured most people at priuschat knew to go to hbo.com for more information, but I guess it has grown too large to assume anything anymore. -m.
Sorry no HDTV signal. But I dont think they will be broadcasting in HD are they? I will be recording at 320x240 MPEG for video CD playback so just about everyone can watch without problems. Hope everything looks and sounds good. Looks like it will be starting in 10 minutes.
OK my computer messed up. I'll be getting the 10:00 feed tonight on HBOw. I should have it ready to download tommorrow.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(theforce @ May 8 2006, 07:55 PM) </div> Thanks for doing this. I'm interested and have bookmarked this thread when you have a link or torrent. If torrent, I'll try to leave my client open as long as possible to help serve the file...
Here is the prius clip. Clip ~1.83MB Right click and save as. I will try to keep it on my server as long as possable. The full res mpeg is in post processing and should be available in the morning.
[you] forced me to stay up tonight to finish and upload the torrent. Here is the torrent. HBO Too Hot Not To Handle Torrent its about 532MB Please leave your client open and share 1:1 or I might beat the crap out of you! I'll leave mine up as long as posable. I was beaten badly by [you] and i'm very tired. I'm going to sleep now. Sorry I just had to use the you tag. Now am I part of the cool crowd? B)
The short clip is wmv format. The windows player for macintosh plays the video without audio. VLC plays the audio without video. So I just ran both concurrently. Very nice Thanks theForce ! Hoping to see the mpeg later. theForce, I have five accounts on comcast that can hold up to 256 MB each. PM/email me if you would like the space to host the movie
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(rflagg @ May 8 2006, 09:33 AM) </div> Well, it makes it a better thread if you make it as easy as possible for readers. So after seeing the documentary last night, I have to wonder if you made it in to the final cut. Which one were you?
