Was driving in to driveway last night and I noticed headlights were out. Was on the road for about 30 min, I was driving in city, I assumed they were on. So after pulling into driveway, I went out and slapped both headlights, they both came on. Sounds like I need to maybe check connections, clean, lube, etc. Car has 150 k on it. Any thoughts ?
If the bulbs are incandescent It could just be the bulbs, but the connector on the back of the headlamps is also known to give trouble with burnt connections. John (Britprius)
I have remove the bulb of the headlamp on my 06 Connection was not too pretty, but looked like contacts were there. Upper fillimant has small separation, but not for sure if broken. It's the one with shield behind it. Local parts store has a Phillips replacement D4R Will that be a suitable replacement or should I go to dealer? This store closes in one hr, 7:00 est
I trucked down to local parts store, and they sold me a Wagner 9003 halogen headlamp bulb for my 06. Popped it in, it works great. Hopefully it will last awhile, yep I know it's not a high end bulb, but hopefully it will hold up. Hey, it was 8.40, need to get car inspected soon, so now I'm ready. For anyone replacing the headlight on the passenger side, you will need to pull windshild fluid tank out of way, sort of wedged in there. unless someone knows a better way.
Would be cool to hear a little feedback ,you guys can respond to the trivial too, can't you??? It doesn't have to always be hard edged big **** deal.
Whoa - where did that come from???? There are many threads on headlight troubles and troubleshooting. Pls. search and research. All these guys (and gals?) are super helpful and good resources - but why should they be at your beck and call exactly?
i would have recommended to do what makes the most sense. if your headlights go out, buy new bulbs like you did. it really doesn't need to be explained to replace a bulb unless you literally just put in brand new ones and then you encountered your issue. also, south carolina doesn't require or have state vehicle inspections. as a general rule, it's always best to stick with OEM products. you're lucky you didn't have the HID bulbs. they cost a pretty penny.
Thanks to all It was more about getting some feedback on my headlight brand selection Originally after reading some threads, I saw where some headlight repairs can relate to expensive computer problems. So don't get me wrong, I have done some research on here. I don't think anyone on here has to be too shy to just give a little input. It's not all about search.
