Hello I have a 2010 prius I recently changed out my low beam headlights the passenger side was completely melted so I had to splice a new plug now both of my low beams are so fun I have to drive with my high beams on could this be caused by not hooking up the wires correctly? Any help would be greatly appreciated
The fact that your wiring was melted probably indicated that there was severe over voltage or current to the light for some reason. Check the fuses first.
I think what happened is at some point the bulb came out of the hole and melted the connector it looks as if they glued it in place and that's what was melted the headlights were ok before the passenger one was really fun due to it just being glued in. So I replaced both bulbs now both are super dim
You need to replace the headlight housing once the plastic mounting surface is damaged from an improperly seated bulb. Your drivers side bulb shouldn't be dim. You should check that the bulb is properly seated, or you might end up melting that side as well.
