Hello all, I have a new to me, used 2017 prime premium. The heated driver side seat does not work. Troubleshooting steps I've taken. Ive found out the fuses for the prius 2017 are main seat heater 6, 18 FL seat heater, and 19 FR seat heater. I replaced 6 & 18. Im still not receiving any heat from the seat. The passenger seat heats up just fine. Ive tested the driver seat by turning it on while not sitting in it and no response was received. Ive been told it could be an issue with the heating elements. What tools do i need to test this out? Worst case scenario is paying the dealership to fix the issue.
If you can get to a plug between the heater and switch, you can disconnect it. Then use a circuit tester to see if power is coming from the switch side when it is turned on.
Ive looked under the seat and based off memory i belive it was four plugs. 3 in the front and i guess one in the back? Which one os the heater plug?
You'll need access to Toyota's service manuals to get a wiring diagram if you don't want to trial unplugging to see what stops working.
