When I first got the car on a cold and snowy day in February, I schedule the charging time and cabin prep on. Well every time I got to the car it was cold and the battery was not fully charged. I thought the car would be warm enough to melt some of the ice and snow on the car windows. So what I did to get my car warmed up with snow or ice on the windshield on a very cold day is to unplug the car and put on the defroster. Five minutes later the car is warmed up and ice/snow easier two clean the windshield. When I leave with the engin running and in the EV mode the engine cuts off within a few miles. Oh yes the engine is also charging the battery
You get use to it. That pic was taken during the big snow storm in March 15th this year. The Prius Prime cut through the snow like a knife through butter. Love this car. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Behind me are two cars we found in a parking lot while we were gathered video for our news cast. 3 1/2 feet of snow. So all you can do is to wish for summer here in Upstate New York.
I usually get sick of summer before the first day of summer - sometime around mid June. By then, I'm usually looking forward to snow. I never seem to get sick of winter though.
