Last night, my wife and I just bought our first hybrid, a red 2017 Prius Prime (Premium). My first morning comute achieved 73mpg (42 miles). I expect it will go down as the battery is depleted with nowhere to charge it. My wife has a 2013 Scion IQ, which we decided to keep since it's paid off but not worth much on trade in. I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. The IQ has been pretty good for us but only gets about 34mpg (over 100K miles yesterday). The electric to gas feels pretty seamless. I'm impressed with the feel of the car. I debated between the Prime and a Volt. The Prius' better mileage after the battery is depleted won out since we drive a lot of miles. Plus, I read the Volt doesn't charge the battery like a normal hybrid (charges only with brakes or plug in). We're looking forward to many miles with the Prius Prime. On the downside, I've already scraped the front skirt. I backed out and turned a little too quickly which caused it to scrape a curb. A fried at work said those bumper repair places do pretty good work for not too much money so I may check them out. The IQ was so short it was never a problem and the Tacoma is tall enough that the never touches a curb (or it just drives over them). I guess I've got to adjust my driving habits a bit.
Hello and welcome from me too. Sorry about your skirt scrape so early. I had to wait six months to scrape mine!
