CND stands for Could not duplicate (malfunction) If you in any way can deliver the car to the dealer in its defective state, by all means do it. Otherwise you may be back tomorrow with the same problem.
thanks for putting this out there, andy. it's a major aggravation to techs. that's usually why intermittent problems go back unfixed- ya can't fix what ya don't know is broken.
The repair manuals have a pretty good rundown on how to set up test conditions and then go around wiggling harnesses and connectors to try and find intermittents. Hopefully all the Toyota techs read and heed these things. There are enough connectors in this car that the occasional bad connection or loose pin is a distinct possibility... . _H*
At the service lineup at the dealership I discharged the 12 Bat before leaving the vehicle. The service writer got in the car and then could not start it. It was necessary for him to also jumpstart it. This was easy for me to do as the 12 V Bat was just about shot anyway. That's what I meant by help the Tech and eliminate CND's.
