Just got back from a family vacation in another vehicle and went to run to the store in the Prius and it's giving me issues. 2012 Prius Two Brake pedal is hard to press and I'm getting the following lights on the dash: VSC, ABS, (!), BRAKE Hooked an OBDLinkLX to it and got the following codes: C1391 (Abnormal Leak in Accumulator), C2315 (HV System) Been my daily driver since it was new. Sitting at about 130K miles. Zeroes issues since I've had it other than replacing the 12V battery a few years ago. Looking for any troubleshooting tips or advice before taking it in to be looked at.
Probably the very routine part that pumps the fluid for the ABS is leaking internally or doing its thing and now it's not so you have rock hard pedal Flintstones type braking etc at least in the Gen 3 this comes immediately and my Gen 2 I drove with all these lights on for almost 2 years in a perfect brake pedal then finally it became similar to this and had to be dealt with.
"HV System" for C2315 is maybe the best example I've seen yet of why it's no use to try to figure out what codes mean by looking at their fortune cookies. C2315 is a code from the Transmission Control ECU (which is a really grandiose name for the box that runs the motor that moves the tranny in and out of Park) and typically indicates something wrong with the P switch or the P position signal. The P switch is connected to the Power Management Control ECU, not to the Transmission Control ECU, so if the Power Management Control ECU detects a problem there, it notifies the Transmission Control ECU to set that code, and I guess whoever picked the fortune cookie "HV System" for it was only thinking as far as "well, the message came from there...".
