We already own a 2008 prius and would like to buy a 2010 this weekend. We bought the 2008 when a prius could not be found, people were waiting months, and dealers were adding premiums to the price. So, we were lucky to find a prius in one week and ended up driving upstate 2 hours away to get our prius for msrp.

I would like to be prepared for the new purchase especially when the dealer sees a female customer coming.

Would like a 2010 Prius IV with solar package, barcelona red. I sent emails to several dealers and got only one quote so far. The other two wanted me to come in which defeats the whole purpose of an internet quote.

Also, how are people negoting through e-mail? The dealers call my house. Should I not give them my phone number?

The one quote I got for a Prius IV with solar was $28,917. I assume this does not include taxes, destination, etc. (forgot to ask if it includes destination.) Edmunds has invoice at $29,076 and TMV at $30,051.

What price should I be looking for in the NYC area. Any dealer recommendations?

Also, I can't remember the name of the person/dealership recommended by prius chat where you can purchase the extended warranty at a resonable price. Does anyone have a link?

Any help/recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
