For shame! the little C's hi-res Multi-Information-Display seriously lords it over the segmented display on the Gen III. When's it going to trickle upwards?
They did improve the mid for 2012, but yeah a true color screen up there would be welcomed. As to when? Probably not until Gen IV, but just my opinion.
Hmm, will find out in a few hours for sure when I pick up Pearl S, but I thought I saw colour in the 2012 mid when I was trying them out. I think the 2012 has the same display as the C.
No, the Prius c has a real color display for the MID but is smaller than the MID in the 3rd Gen Prius: The 3rd Gen Prius has color, but it is very 'weak' color and really only red and differing shades of an 'aqua blue'. For 2012 the MID (which is vacuum florescent in the 3rd Gen prius) has better resolution than the 2012/11 one.
Yup, it's pastel colour only. I guess we won't be watching videos on it. But I have the 7" GPS screen to distract me (search "distracted driver legislation in Alberta"). I'll be exploring the maze that is the technology package for the next few days.
I got the C 2 weeks before getting the 3G It didnt bother me too much at first.... but darn it, the 3G mid sucks, bad....in comparison to the C So much more on the C and no to mention the bright colors. If I had a choice, I would go for the C display in both.
