OK, so I took off the bumper on my 2006 Prius package 6 120K miles and replaced both HID headlamps that were intermittent for the past 100K miles. I bought inexpensive replacement bulbs on ebay. Now the new headlamps are even more intermittent, sometimes going out every few minutes and sometimes both are going out at the same time, which the previous HID bulbs did not do. I am wondering whether I have a ballast problem, or maybe I did not put the clips on the bulbs back on correct? Anyone have a similar experience? Taking the front bumper off and putting it back on took about 2 hours, and now there headlight alignment seems to be off a bit. I am having just too much fun with there HID headlights. Thanks Dave
I had a problem with one of mine after initial replacement, with both flickering and alignment. When I took it all apart, I found that the silver connector on the back of the bulb was not attached as securely as it should have been. pressing down more firmly on the connector as I turned it corrected this problem.
