I have a 2005 Prius - my driver side headlight is out. I'm unsure if it's an HID and if it is an HID, do I need to replace it with another HID or can I use a standard halogen lamp (cheaper). My husband is going to do the work as paying $250 to have a headlight replaced seems ludicrous to me. So, HID or not? Thanks in advance for your help.
If you have HID you can only fit a HID as a replacement. I believe cars fitted with fog lights in the US came with HID's. Look on Amazon for genuine Phillips HID bulbs I believe about $40. They would be best replaced as a pair for even color and brightness and if you change one I guarantee the other will follow shortly. John (Britprius)
