    In the US, at least, you can look where the 100 year flood plain is and not build there. Are you sure it is luck and not lack of planning? I am less sure of tsunamis, but I bet they are mostly coastal.

    I feel the same way when idiots in my neck of the woods rebuild in the same stupid place after hurricanes. Did they learn nothing?
