I can get my hood open by messing with the release and pulling up on the hood but it's not easy. I read penetrating oil works well to lubricate it and get it back to normal. Any of you had to deal with this and had a good solution? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Does the hood release button move freely and snap back when you operate it from the driver's seat with the hood already up? If so, turn all your attention to the latch mechanism. Work some grease into all parts of the latch, not just the lever. A Rule of Life: If it spins, use oil; If it slides, use grease.
just looked at mine, the mechanism seems to be covered with some kind of grease. and make sure the spring is working properly.
