    Hi Guys,
The Monsoon Brackets (plastic Rain Guards) had fallen off from my Prius. I have tried double sided Tape (may be not a very good quality one) without much avail. Spoke to my mechanic friend and he is not willing to put glue to fix it. His reasoning is that the glue will affect the paint on the window panel. Do you guys have any suggestion how I can reattach my monsoon bracket?

    Cheers

One thing you may want to try is doublesided tape that's designed for both outdoor use, and permanent mounting.

I know home depot sells it as a thin black foam tape with a red backing. It's a bit expensive, but it sets very strong - you'll need to remove the old residue before applying the new tape if you choose to go that way.

(edit: I notice that you're not in north america, but you should still be able to find the same material at your local store - I think it's a 3M product) - look for VHB products (very high bond)

For the best bond, make sure the surface is absolutely clean (with 99% isopropyl alcohol - NOT rubbing alcohol) before applying.

You could also try the 3M distributor down there. Also body shop suppliers would be another good stop, as a lot of body side moldings are retained with industrial grade adhesives.
