Rear seat belts are like a Straight Jackets in my car when the driver taps the brakes, they just get tighter and tighter! They don't release like normal belts w/normal driving! I thought it was funny until I was a rear passenger!! Any ideas Anyone? Thanks In God We Trust
They have a feature meant for securing rear child seats: if you pull them all the way out (or lean way, way, way forward in them), they go into a ratcheting mode where they will only retract. That's how you get them to securely hold the child seat. The mode only resets when you unbuckle the belt and let it retract all the way. To avoid getting into that mode unintentionally, avoid leaning way, way, way forward.
