My first generation Prius's hybrid battery died recently. My car has 179,000 miles on it when this happened. The body is not in the best shape so I will not be replacing the battery. My question is I heard that the core batteries are worth some money. How does one go about selling the core and how do I get it out of the car? I loved my Prius, and I am trying to save up to get another one.
Are you simply going to part out the car in general, or what's the plan? My teenage son is looking for a project car and probably wouldn't mind a bunch of rust. This is Wisconsin after all. Generally you would end up selling the pack locally since it will cost you a hundred-something dollars to ship it. Removing it will make the car inoperable. I might buy it but it's a 3 hour drive for me to pick it up. Call me and we can talk. 608-729-4082.
