How Nissan Makes its Electric Car Battery Packs, Part One of Three: On Being Super-Clean - Transport Evolved: Cleaner, Greener, Safer and Smarter How Nissan Makes its Electric Car Battery Packs, Part Two of Three: Building the Battery Cells - Transport Evolved: Cleaner, Greener, Safer and Smarter How Nissan Makes its Electric Car Battery Packs, Part Three of Three: Cells to Cars - Transport Evolved: Cleaner, Greener, Safer and Smarter Interesting inside look at how batteries are made for the Leaf and e-NV200 vehicles. I find it interesting that they have to make the batteries in a clean room, compared to what you'd imagine a traditional car factory to look like and how dirty they must be.
The clean room emphasis reminds me of the similar struggle Toyota had when building the first NiMH battery packs for the Prius in 1997. Great details! Thanks!
