    From Google Translate:

    Hi all,
I drive a second generation Toyota Prius with about 250,000 km (about 155,000 miles) on it. As far as I know, the EGR system, intake manifold, PCV valve and related components have never been cleaned or serviced. I would like to address this now to prevent problems and keep the engine running smoothly.

Can someone please help me with:

How to remove and clean the EGR valve and cooler

How to properly clean the intake manifold

Where is the PCV valve located and how do I access it

What other components should I clean or check while I'm at it?

I would really appreciate any DIY advice, diagrams, videos or step-by-step instructions you can share. Thanks in advance!

^ You say it's a second generation. Can you verify the model year, or the date of manufacture (should be on sticker in driver's door opening). If it is indeed 2nd gen, it doesn't have EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), at least not the problematic 3rd gen system.

    For reference, a gen 2:

    And a gen 3:

On Gen2 you don't need to clean the EGR, it's not there!
On Gen2 you don't need to clean the PCV. It's enough to just check it.

On Gen2 you need to clean the oil collector rings in the cylinders.
The engine starts to burn oil at high mileage, thereby damaging the catalytic converter.
Do a decarbonization of the engine and you will notice how the engine has become smoother and quieter.

so I can use some piston cleaner on the principle of pouring it into the pistons through the spark plug, leaving it for a while and blowing it out. For now I poured fresh oil plus added a long-distance flush. In the meantime I will see if it burns my oil and in the meantime I will clean the pistons.
