Didn't see anywhere in the article where Gil stated getting 100 mpg as your thread heading states. And...Gil's really not getting that great of mileage over EPA....although it's pretty good. The article didn't say where the test run took place (highway or city or both) but his 47 mpg run (which is described as taking place "on some runs") is only 18% over combined EPA for the Fusion. Something that is not atypical with a conscious effort to maximize mpg and a little practice. Articles such as this are great for the common person to read and be impressed and go out and buy a Ford Fusion but it only scratches the surface of what that car or any hybrid can do (something most commuters will never know about and never care to know...aka "buy it and drive it hybrid owner." Throw in some Pulse and Glide...grill block/air dam...tires at max psi...belly pan...passenger side view mirror delete. Now we're talking 50-55 mpg (23-30% over EPA) and something worth talking about.
