How to turn off backup beeping?

    When I put my new Prius v in reverse and back it up, there's this infernal beeping *smile*.

    Please please, how can I turn that off?

    Ask the dealer to convert it to one beep. Most do it for free.

    There is a gadget through which you can do it but why bother when it takes about 30 seconds for the dealer to hook up your car to their diagnostic computer and change the value of a cell in the options memory.

    We're about a half hour drive (depending on traffic) from the dealer, but we'll try them first. Just found the thing about the OBDII scan tool. I also have a 2005 Prius that I turned the beeper off using a simple sequence of button pushes. Too bad, I was hoping for that again *smile*.
