Ok, I have been playing with my new Prius Plug-in and trying to figure out why the Settings Date says 9/24/2014 (increases one day each day), and how to change it to be the current date. This is the date that is shown on the grainy display when you press the DISP button on the steering wheel where the ghostly Prius usually lives. The MPG/MPGe monthly charts are saying it's 2014. Using the clock buttons on the dash only changes the time as best I can tell.
Don't have a PIP, but it should be somewhere in Setup -> Vehicle I would imagine. This would be one of those settings that would only appear when the vehicle is in Park.
try holding the display button when the date is displayed and see if it starts blinking. it's in the manual, but i've forgotten the exact procedure.
