I recently bought a used 2013 Priua 2 and I noticed something that I’m not sure is real or my imagination. Recently, I noticed that the EV light turns on as soon as the HSI screen comes on after pressing the On switch. The Eco light turns on as soon as I press the accelerator and both the EV and Eco lights stay on until the bar indicator reaches Eco range; at which point the EV light turns off. However, the Eco light stays on until I come to a complete stop or the bar reaches the power range. I don’t recall the system doing that in the recent past. I recall both light being off when parked and the EV and Eco lights switching on/off as the status bar reaches each zone. Am I correct in this or is it normal for both EV and Eco lights to be on simultaneously and for the Eco light to remain on throughout the EV and Eco ranges? And for the EV light to turn on when parked or stopped in Drive? Thanks for your help.
They've changed the way the HSI displays for 2012 (if you're comparing it to the 2010/2011 ones). They way you described it in the first paragraph is exactly how I understand the HSI to work in the 2012 model. The EV light just indicates engine status... so it can turn off at any time the engine is running (for those reading, this is not to be confused with the EV mode light... that's activated with the EV button). The Eco light will stay on as long as you're within the ECO area and will turn off if you go into the PWR zone or if you switch to PWR Mode (the light stays off in PWR Mode regardless of where you are on the HSI bar).
