2010, purchased new, 89k. Never a hint of a problem. Last few days, I've notice a low level humming sound at idle. Probably there at speed and swamped by road noise. No change in performance. Temps in the 85 t0 90 range, with AC always at Auto, and at 72. Any ideas? Thanks for listening.
Would that be red or white? Sorry. I couldn't resist. If so, what needs be done, or needs to be checked. I see my dealer in a couple of weeks for inspection. This is one of the honest, reliable, and trustworthy dealers.
It's probably just a hum coming from your AC. Next time you hear this hum inside your car, stop and step outside to the front of your car. If it's louder and coming from the engine.............it's your AC
Nothing, if what you're hearing is normal compressor sound. Does the humming sound stop if you turn off the air conditioning? Does the air conditioning function properly? If yes to both those questions, don't worry about it.
Compressor? Hadn't thought of that. Next I hear it, I'll report back. Thing is, I don't remember hearing it previously. I'll shut down the AC and check.
Please put in "compressor noise" in the search bar in here. You'll find out lots regarding the noise you are hearing. I'm pretty sure its your AC compressor. Read about it. Its different from any other compressor on cars. Its better.
