So I heard the sirens go off on the way home. By the time I got to South Parkway, one traffic light was on yellow-blink and the one to home, dead. I turned onto our street and a tree was blown down, completely blocking the street four houses from home. So I turned around and circled the next block West and reached home. I noticed all the houses were dark so I backed in. Parked and restarted the 2003 Prius with the lights off. I popped the trunk, turned on the inverter, and ran the contractor extension cord into the house. Within minutes, we had lights, no cable, but enough to deal with it. Sad to say, my wife was sick, throwing up. But with lights, we dealt with it. Just as I was typing this note, power returned. Prius Power again, Bob Wilson
A high-wind storm with no injuries, not uncommon in our neck of the woods. My first Prius mod was to install a 1kW inverter and we have used it once or twice per year since 2005 . . . the longest four days and six hours. Others have had it much worse. Glad you didn't take any damage this time around. We got some wind and about 3" of rain. Light hail in some places. No need for Prius Power this time! Tell your bride that I hope she's feeling better! Prayers sent! I hope that the attack Chi-hooey-hooey wasn't rattled too badly by the WX!
