i Have a 2008 with 298,000 miles and she burns a bit of oil ( like 1.5quarts per 5k miles) and crappy paint, but runs pretty decent otherwise. I think the HV battery pack has gone weak again as i have the triangle of death and all the other lights on. Dr prius shows a code of p3000 and techstream was able to give me a p0a80 (replace hybrid pack). Do you think it is worth it on such an old car? also here are some screen shots of the pack/module voltages. Should i just purchase all 28 cells or just get ones that the modules are below 15.2v? I cant figure out how to upload and attach a picture so here are the #'s. Battery block v01- 15.34v Battery block v02- 14.77v Battery block V03- 15.07v battery block v04- 15.21v battery block v05- 15.28v battery block v06- 15.07v battery block v07- 13.35v battery block v08- 14.78v battery block v09- 13.5v battery block v10- 14.86v battery block v11- 15.26v battery block v12- 15.23v battery block v13- 15.23v battery block v14- 15.1v thanks
I would weigh each module and if the weight is around 1030 grams or less, I would not waste my time trying to repair it. The capacity will not rise above 3000mA. After the capacity is restored, the capacity could be above 3000mA but will drop very quickly to 2500-3000mA because the modules have dried out. If the weight was still ~1035 grams or higher, I would discharge the whole pack to ~0-3 volts 3 times with a low current and charge it with the same low current. Hybrid Automotive's method of discharging the whole pack to 84 volts will not give you a good result on a battery with such high mileage. I see a problem in blocks: 2, 7, 8, 9, 10. Some modules in them are weak, while others could last a little longer but not too long.
